Annotation: Nowadays various optoelectronic systems are used all around. The aim of this course is to show a more detailed description of technologies, which are used for optoelectronic devices.

- Description of construction of particular OE systems
- Sources of radiation, detectors
- Thermal radiation, thermal equilibrium between radiation and matter, radiation of black body
- Optoelectronic elements based on quantum structures
- Spectroscopy of light, interferometry, Fabry-Perot interferometer
- Polarization of light in volume and fibre optics, measurement of polarization
- Optoelectronic shifts with sensors of position and rotation
- Measurement of weak signals by synchronous detection of alternating signals
- Communication of PC with devices via HPIB interface of serial RS-232 poer
- Usage of electron beams: electron microscope, electron lithography
- Scanning of surface of the samples by means of scanning tunneling microscopy (STM)
- Methods of investigation of crystal structure
- Description and usage of luminescence: photoluminescence, electroluminescence, cathodoluminescence, chemoluminescence, bioluminescence, sonoluminescence, mechanoluminescence
- Usage of OPTEL1 kit for teaching of basics of optical fibre telecommunication: transmission of DC signal, transmission of audio-frequency, transmission of sound
- Usage of OPTEL2 kit for measurements of properties of optical fibres: radiation characteristics of fibres, numerical aperture, attenuation, influence of bends and micro-bends, transmission and reflection sensors, U-probe.
