Annotation: The aim is to provide introduction to the cosmic ray physics.

Course review:
1. EXPERIMENTAL ORIGINS: History of the field, discovery of CR, discovery og CR showers in the atmosphere, connection to the nuclear and particle physics (new particles, new measurement techniques, emmulsions, chambers). 2. COSMIC RADIATION: Energy spectrum, chemical composition, sources, accelerating mechanisms, properties of energy spectrum, ancle, knee, GCR effect, propagation through the space, influence of magnetical cosmic fields, open questions. 3. MEASUREMENT METHOD FOR COSMIC RADIATION: Balloon and satellite measurements (low energy), Earth surface measurements (medium energy: surface detectors, Čerenkov detectors, scintillators, muon detectors; ultra-energy cosmic radiation: giant arrays of surface detectors, fluorescent detectors). 4. EXPERIMENTAL REVIEW OF THE FIELD: - Decisive experiments (KASCADE, AUGER, HEIRES, AGASA, HESS, MAGIC). - Important moments for the development of the field of study (mystery of spectrum of energy tail, accelerators in Galaxy, anisotropy).
