Annotation: The optional course is a part of the basic subject teaching of students of physics teaching in the Master's degree. It aims to acquaint students with the field of contemporary informatics and computer technology with emphasis on their practical application in the field of education. The course is taught in thematic modules. During the course the student processes partial tasks and creates a portfolio with their own outputs.

History and development of informatics. Structure of computers. Software classification.
Word processors. Smooth, mixed and paragraph creation. Document structure. Typography. WYSIWYG editors, TeX/XeLaTeX.
Spreadsheet processors. Data processing. Computational functions. Graphs and histograms. Forms. Modeling of physical processes.
Presentations in teaching. Principles for presentation. Presentation technology and its development. Activation methods and means.
Computer simulations and animations. Classification of simulations. Possibilities of incorporating simulations into teaching. Interactive resources and technology.
Video experiments in teaching. Video analysis process, analysis of real physical process.
LMS systems. Available activities (study materials, testing). Communication tools for distance learning.
