Annotation: Students will learn the principles of measurement of different types of units and ranges, and acquire basic knowledge of processing signals from the detectors.

Course review:
1) Structure of the measuring system. Converters of physical-to-electrical quantities. 2) Static and dynamic characteristics of sensors. Methods for reducing their errors. 3) Amplitude and time analysis of signals (discrimination, SCA, MCA, TOF, coincidence measurements). 4) Light sensors (photon, photomultiplier, photoresistor, photodiode, CCD and CMOS). 5) Detection of ionizing radiation (ionization chamber, scintillation and semiconductor detectors). Detection of charged particles, gamma radiation photons, neutrons. 6) Temperature sensors (resistive, semiconductor, thermoelectric). ITS90 temperature scale. 7) Sensors of mechanical, electrical and magnetic quantities. 8) Actuators, regulation. 9) Intelligent sensors, implementation of computer technology, artificial intelligence. 10) Nanosensors - principles of using nanoparticles and nanoobjects - application of nanotechnologies in sensor construction. Miniaturization of sensors, MEMS.
