Annotation: The lecture aims to intensive laser radiation - matter interaction and hi-tech short laser pulse aplication in medicine, science and industry (LIDAR, litography, nuclear fusion).

Course review:
1) Elementary matter - laser interaction - absorption, reflection, thermal interaction and materiál heating; different kinds of interaction in different temporal and spatial scales 2) Laser excitation in different materials - thermal and non-thermal processes, nonlinear interaction. Ultrashort laser pulse excitation, athermal melting 3) Surface interaction - surface patterning and ablation. Mechanisms of laser ablation - evaporation, phase explosion, Coulomb explosion, spallation. 4) Dynamics of laser ablation (ablation plumes), plasma effects, cluster creation 5) Direct laser scribing in transparent materials (bulk interaction) and following processes 6) Gas and solid-state target interaction. Generation of non-coherent radiation, dot target, Compton scattering. 7) Generation of coherent UV radiation, HHG, attosecond pulses. 8) Laser accelaration of charged particles. Inertial ignition and nuclear fusion. 9) Laser application in science, medicine, and hi-tech industrial applications (litography, LIDAR, LIDT measurement, etc.)
