Annotation: The aim is to provide students with an introduction to the standard model of lementary particles from theorerical, experimental and historical aspects.

Course review:
1. Introduction to the standard model, discoveries of basic particles. 2. Strange particles, quark and parton models, strong interactions. 3. Symmetries in particle physics, conservation laws. 4. Leptons and neutrinos, electroweak interactions, intermediate vector boson, weak neutral currents. 5. Modern experiments in particle physics, the discoveries of the top quark and the Higgs boson. 6. Standard model as the theory of local calibration invariance under a specific symmetry group. 7. Possible extensions of the Standard Model, evidence and possible detection of dark matter.
