Course review:
1. Mathematical, physical and technical aspects of optical imaging (OSLO - simulation of optical elements). 2. Description of the point imaging in an approach of Fraunhofer diffraction theory. 3. Analysis of image defocusing in a diffraction limited optical system (OSLO - simulation "Perfect Lens"). 4. The optical imaging using appodization (OSLO - central obstruction and Gaussian appodization). 5. The point imaging in optical system with aberrations (OSLO - ray aberrations). 6. Classification and calculation of wave aberrations (OSLO - wave aberrations). 7. Criteria for evaluation of the point imaging. 8. Analysis of optimal focusing using the Strehl criterion (OSLO - optimal focusing for spherical aberration of 3rd and 5th order). 9. The optical imaging in a partially coherent illumination. 10.
