Course review:
1. The principle of optical imaging, image formation based on effects of geometrical, wave and nonlinear optics. 2. Paraxial optical imaging, lens equation and basic paraxial parameters of optical systems. 3. Ray optics imaging, paraxial imaging properties of a spherical boundary, imaging by a real lens. 4. Refractive optical elements, paraxial parameters of systems composed of multiple elements. 5. Imaging by a spherical boundary of dielectric media, aplanatic points. 6. Design of aplanatic lenses, simulation in Oslo Premium. 7. Design and applications of optical elements with aspherical surfaces, simulations in Oslo Premium. 8.
