Practical exercises are focused on deepening, securing and extending of practical skills in manipulation with relevant instruments and devices and in following ophthalmologic and optometric investigations: investigation with slit lamp, Javal ophthalmometer, autokeratometer, Hartinger refractometer and with autokeratorefractometer, skiascopy with point and bent skiascope, direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy, measurement of natural visus and corrections, subjective investigation of refraction to near and to far and determination of optimal correction (method of the best sphere, fogging method and method of crossed cylinders for determination of astigmatic correction, bichromatic test, polarized balance tests), measurement of heterophoria, associative phoria and determination of optimal prismatic correction, investigation of mutual relationship between accommodation and convergence, measurement of fusion reserves, investigation of stereopsis, measurement of contrast sensitivity of the eye, investigation of colour sense. In the frame of a given task, individual investigations are performed specifically and systematically so that they form a complex unit. The practical exercises are carried out in the school optometric laboratory. The seminars are aimed at performance of required tasks, elaboration of protocols from particular investigations and individual consultations.
