Annotation: The course aims to realize selected experimental setups, carry out particular measurements and improve student's experimental skills in the field of quantum optics and photonics. Students will explore advanced experimental methods and measurement techniques.

Course review:
1. Characterization od electro-optic and acousto-optic modulators: spectral response, heterodyne detection; modulation and sidebands, spectrum analyzer. 2. Feedback control loops for stabilization of laser parameters, error signal generation methods, construction of PID controller. 3. Laser beam amplitude stabilization using acousto-optic modulator. 4. Two-photon absorption in semiconductor, intensity and fringe-resolved autocorrelation, ultrafast pulse characterization. 5. Single-photon detectors, time-correlated single-photon counting: delay and gate generators, discriminators, TAC, SCA, majority logic, counters, multichannel analyzers. 6. SPDC based single photon sources: design, alignment and optimization. 7. Entangled states, Bell inequalities, decoherence; experimental aspects of quantum state and process tomography. 8. Saturated absorption spectroscopy in rubidium vapours, Doppler effect, Zeeman splitting, FM spectroscopy. 9. Frequency locking of tunable diode laser to an atomic transition in rubidium. 10. Atomic frequency standards, characterization and comparison.
