Annotation: Diffraction effects, principle and mathematical models of diffractive elements, design algorithms,implementation of diffractive elements, simulations in VirtualLab software.

Course review:
1. Principles of diffractive optics, basic types of diffractive optical elements and applications. 2. Transformation of light by diffractive elements, Fresnel zone plate and phase plate. 3. Transmission of light through diffraction grating, Fraunhofer diffraction on system of slits. 4. Basic types of diffraction gratings, grating equation and diffraction efficiency, analysis of amplitude gratings (binary, cosine). 5. Analysis of the diffraction efficiency of phase gratings (binary and cosine). 6. Ideal and real blazed gratings. 7. Signal sampling in diffractive optics. 8. Design of diffractive optical elements, MOD and HD lenses. 9. Realization of diffractive optical elements. 10. Design of phase holograms using Gerchbergova - Saxtonova algorithm. 11. Computer-generated holograms, the principle of spatial light modulation. 12. Spatial light modulators in diffractive optics.
