Annotation: The principle of operation and construction of laser, physical, technological, military and medical applications of lasers.

Course review:
1. The principle of operation and construction of laser, basic types and trends in the development of lasers. 2. The properties of laser radiation, detection and diagnosis of laser radiation, principles of the safe work with lasers. 3. An overview of scientific and technical applications of lasers. Laser systems in technological applications and surgery. 4. The use of lasers in spectroscopy. 5. The utilization of mechanical effects of laser radiation, transfer of momentum and angular momentum by laser beams. Physical properties, experiments and applications of nonstandard laser beams. 6. Military applications of lasers, range finders, markers, irradiators, LIDAR, laser navigation. 7. The principle of operation of laser systems for measuring distance, position, surface quality, speed, vibration and shape parameters. 8. The principle and experimental demonstration of the shadow and non-contact laser scanning method of measuring transverse dimensions (telecentric optical components, divide the elements, detectors, analysis of the accuracy of measurement). 9. Use of lasers in optical communications (principles and components used in fiber and wireless communication). 10. Semiconductor lasers, current technology, semiconductor UV lasers use semiconductor lasers in spectroscopy and sensors.
